Multi Day Hiking Tour in Kazbegi

    Tour Overview
Lace up your boots for the ultimate alpine trekking experience along the historic Georgian Military Highway. Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) is Georgia鈥檚 premier mountain playground, where raw limestone massifs, deep volcanic gorges, and creeping glaciers await. Far more than just a sightseeing drive, this dedicated hiking tour leaves the vehicles behind to conquer legendary trails, cross rushing streams, and trek right up to the massive ice falls of one of Europe鈥檚 highest dormant stratovolcanoes.

What You Will See & Experience
The Pilgrimage Ridge to Gergeti Trinity Church: Begin your adventure by bypassing the paved roads. You will hike up a historic, forested mountain trail from Stepantsminda, emerging onto the high alpine ridge to stand before the 14th-century stone church with the valley plunging down beneath your feet.

The Sabertse Pass & Mount Kazbek Glacier: Take on Kazbegi鈥檚 ultimate single-day challenge. You will ascend past the Gergeti Church, climbing through alpine meadows to reach the dramatic Sabertse Pass at 2,930 meters. From here, you鈥檒l trek right to the edge of the massive, cracked tongue of the Gergeti Glacier, enjoying jaw-dropping, close-up views of Mount Kazbek鈥檚 frozen 5,047-meter summit.

The Jagged Pinnacles of Juta Valley: Hike through the pristine, emerald-green Juta Valley, often compared to the Italian Dolomites. The trail follows a rushing mountain stream up to the foot of the Chaukhi Massif, a spectacular wall of sharp, multi-pointed rock peaks that rise vertically into the sky.

The Travertine & Mineral Springs of Truso Valley: Trek through a dramatic, volcanic canyon where the earth bubbles with natural carbonated springs. You will hike past vibrant orange and white limestone travertine formations, cross rustic bridges over the roaring Terek River, and explore abandoned stone ghost villages and medieval watchtowers.

The Rugged Trails of Gveleti Waterfalls: Navigate a short, rocky scree trail hidden inside the sheer cliffs of the Dariali Gorge. The hike takes you deep into a narrow ravine to witness the roaring mist of both the Big and Small Gveleti Waterfalls tumbling down smooth basalt rocks.

The Arsha Pass & Hidden Valley: Escape the mainstream crowds on a lesser-known trail starting near the village of Sno. This hike climbs sharply into high, isolated pastures used only by local shepherds, offering total isolation and a unique vantage point over the entire Stepantsminda valley.

Hearty Mountain Dumplings: Replenish your burned calories after a long day on the trail with a traditional mountain feast. You鈥檒l sit down to learn the art of eating authentic mountain Khinkali鈥攇iant, hand-rolled dumplings packed with spiced meat and steaming, savory broth.
